Annie's Soldier
23 May, 2010

Annie's soldier never came home.
His ghost is doomed to forever roam
and run from a battle in bitter defeat
because his regiment refused to retreat
so Annie sits and waits for the day.
Her eyes once blue are replaced by grey
and unaware of this miracle on display.
He touched her shoulder but could not stay!
