Love

Alfred Lord Tennyson wrote:
"'Tis better to have loved and lost than have never loved at all"
Was he right to say this,
Or is love something that should only be felt when it is "right"?
Unfortunately, no one but you can answer that question
Are you willing to give your heart over and over again
Knowing that most times it will end in pain?
Or, do you keep your heart hidden
Until you know the time is right?
Again, no one but you can answer that question
Are you a person that can fall in love
And risk the hurt,
Or are you one that has been hurt so many times
That you can't bear to go thru it again?
It is amazing that those that have found their true love
Are the first to tell you that you can't give up
It's easy for them,
Their hearts are already full
The love that a mother or father feels for a child,
The love of a sibling or relative,
Are the loves that can sustain you
But, they are not the love that fills your heart
And makes each day more worth living than the day before
"The One"
The one that you want to see first thing in the morning
And the one you want beside you last thing at night,
That is the love that swells your heart
The love that the world can see on your face and in your demeanor
I truly believe that the "one" is out there for all of us
The journey may be short and sweet,
Or may be long and arduous
But, either way,
Only you can decide if it is a journey you are willing to take
So, "'Tis better to have loved and lost than have never loved at all"?
Is that a true statement?
Again, that is a question only you can answer
And it needs to be answered before your journey can truly begin
