The Sun
16 August, 2001
Author: Don Fraser
Soon the sun will be gone the river will put out it's flames.
The moon will rise over the mountains
and reflect on the lighted river.
As we look at this beautiful picture that nature has given,
we wander how long it took to paint.
The darkness hangs over the river now.
Shadows hide the beauty from us.
Yet we know it is there. we have traveled that river.
We have reached heaven and we have met God.
We have loved.
It has been said from the river you don't return.
That is true my darling.
There will never be another you
Our love will last until the end of time.
Morning will come.
The sun will rise from the cold and icy river
and another day will start.
We shall not count the days we have left.
We will count the days that have past when we were young.
Our love will last as long as the mountains and the winding river
because God said it would.
