Sounds Remembering
13 September, 2010
Author: Christian V
Hard to remember really
that sound, lingering
whispering flowing memories
back into rightful placement of my mind
reminding me how harmony felt
to smile for something real
what was it?
Where now has it gone?
Even now as I lay
dreaming
darkness fills
nothing memorable to be heard
nor felt
silky vapors unable to find form
time never feeling so gone to the wind
relevant to nothing more
I press my ears to the earth
places once claimed to us
as a man with amnesia
tries to find his way back to peace
yet no avail
what is the sound?
A song
a laugh
a cry perhaps
the car engine on the long drive home
your hair beating against the wind on the summer lake
your voice, comforting
perhaps those eyes
telling me the most beautiful
stories of the world
showing happy endings happen
even outside of the books
now still however
I hear nothing but darkness
the silent ways
left only to those that give up
for I see no option
no cause to keep sanity or hope
time heals
and to love is to hurt
to love as I did and do
I may never hear the sound again
