Flight
29 April, 2003
Author: Dorothy C. Fox
Today I wish to take flight
to go into the heavenly places
to see all of the angelic spaces
to look for Him who died for me
to give me a new Reality.
The sky is so blue and the birds
are singing I wish I could join
in their song, but their ears would
be ringing.
The tulips are blooming, the delicate
scent is so great, and lilacs adorn
the heaven's gate.
So maybe with all this glorious stuff
around me, I don't need to take "flight"
just adore all that God has given me,
in this 83rd year of my life
One day that flight will be, but it is
in God's time and destiny.

Roy (205.188.209.76) -- Friday, May 2 2003, 02:32 am What a poem! How dear to me I will forever hold in my heart for eternity Dorothy. Let me know on the flight time and I may be there to get us a bottle of champain to laugh and sing for eternal joy--well maybe we could dance to an orchestra of music with pure happiness |

Roy (205.188.209.76) -- Saturday, May 3 2003, 08:36 pm I wonder myself just sitting here at the airport drinking my cup of tea. |
ray (24.131.244.133) -- Monday, May 5 2003, 03:48 pm This morning,a cold rainy Cinco di Maia day, I heard the cardinal singing in the tree that hovers over my drive way, felt as though it could have been my beloved's spirit (he could whistle well, but not sing), so if one believes in "life after life", I couldn't imagine a better way to express your love. thanks for your comments. My tears are still new, it's been just a month since he left the earthly realm to a far better place. |
Tarna (63.65.186.124) -- Tuesday, July 15 2003, 10:16 am What a beautiful poem. A wonderful vision that will last through time. I think when ever I see a tulip I will think of you and your writings. Your Talent is wonderful. I am saddened to hear of your recent loss. I am sure when the time does come. Your love will be awaiting there at the gate to once again join you. My tears now join with yours. I hope your cardinal always sings to you a beautiful song Dorothy. :) -Tarna |
