The Weary Traveler
4 January, 2011
Author: C. Scott
There is a road we all travel down
Sometimes it twists and turns,
There are hills and valleys,
Roadblocks may force us to re-evaluate the road
And delays will prolong our journey
The road we all travel is called life
Each road is different,
Each person facing their unique road
No one ever knows where that road will lead,
And what will be waiting at the end
My road has changed significantly over the past year
The valley it went thru was incredibly deep
And, at times, seemed to never stop going down
But, with faith, a great support network and the help of doctors,
The road started back to the top
I have not arrived at the top yet to see what the road holds next for me,
But the journey has started fresh
And I look forward to seeing where it leads in the future
No matter where the road leads,
Remember that there will always be people along the way
Those people may not always be there to help you,
But even those that don't will teach you a lesson
Take those lessons and keep moving down the road
Every person and situation teaches you something you need for your journey
Never lose the lesson, no matter how difficult it is to learn
The road is long and arduous...if you are lucky...
Each day bringing new challenges
Face those challenges and know
That everyone else you encounter is doing the same
Your road is no better or worse than anyone else's
Though it may seem like it at times
Follow the road wherever it may lead
Remember this,
"Life is a journey, not a destination"
And we are all weary travelers
Making our way down the road called life
