Nocturnal
9 June, 2002
Author: Dorothy C. Fox
Light reflected through the night
window, showing stripes of gold on
my wall and leaving shadows as I awaken
from my sleep, to stretch and stretch
like a kitten arching her back and waiting
for love to come in.
There is no one to serenade me,only the Moon giving out such delight
as I seek this Moon god who awoke me from
my sleep to share his love in the night.
My heart has longed for this fulfillment
through all my celestial past ...
when will you come in your full glory
oh, God of the Night?
Will it be this Night?
