News Of The World
21 February, 2011
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
I sit here in wonderment of the world
I read of the hypocrisy of it all
I hear the loss and sorrow
And I watch the survival
Humanity at it's finest
Humanity at it's worst
A fine line to tread
Still struggling to move forward
I lock the doors to the reality behind them
A safe haven free of the interference
Even though it knocks to get in
Some days ignorance is bliss
Placated with finery
Rather than gifts of the heart
Materialistic splendors
Just a fallacy of love
I wonder, is it really worth it
While loneliness is all around
A world of emptiness
Longing for what can't be attained
