My New Life
6 December, 2001
Author: Dorothy C. Fox
This fourth day of December
year 2001, I find myself in a
strange community, alone, but
not lonely. I can watch through
the front windows the children going
to school and my computer room is
quite a blessing. No more "pulling
tummy in" to reach my computer and
that brings me joy.
Neighbors brought me flowers as
a welcome and new beauty. Now to send
a "thank you note" will be my duty.
Off today to that "other world" where
"Old age" reins but I no longer have to
share that pain!
Children and grandchildren (and even
great) are close by and when they see
this "great grandma" they might see their
future and would they shudder (or agree,
this great grandma is good to see?)
The sun is shining brightly, this December
Day, so I'll merrily go on my way, and
say "good day".
