I Stopped Believing

Author: Casey
You said you didn't care what they thought
You said it didn't matter
I didn't believe you
I was disgusted
You didn't care who saw
Yet it kept getting worse
People said you would get better
I didn't believe them
They didn't know
You stopped coming to school
I heard the reason soon enough
They said you would come back next week
They lied
I stopped believing
It would be two months
Before I would see you again
You weren't any worse
But you weren't better either
I was told that would come later
But it didn't
You took my friends with you
Took them on this wild ride
They said it was safe
But it wasn't
Everyone assured me this would pass
You would get better
They lied
I stopped believing
I stopped believing for so long
Many years I assumed you were dead
Succeeded with your intentions
Then I found you
A picture of you on Myspace
You were alive
All these years I thought you were dead
I told people you were dead
I was wrong
How good it felt to be wrong
But it didn't make me believe again
Everyone lied
No one would help you
All your cries for help went unheard
But I believe in you
I believe God still has plans for you
But when it comes to them
Their stories and their lies
I stopped believing
