No Peace In Sleep

Peace in a breath
Prayer for an angel
To make peace with the chemicals
Pills that try to solve
What life left behind
Bad days turn to years
While dreams transform reality
God please lay to rest
Memories that swallow
Chewing and spitting out
Nothing left to haunt
Thoughts are enemies
Empty mind is a blessing
When I can stare at the sunrise
1000 yards away
Slowly the sun creeps
Making the slow night pass
Maybe he will be safe today
