The Old Lady Dreams
24 August, 2001
Author: Dorothy C. Fox
Once upon a long time ago the fairies
told me I was a princess and that my
soul was sweet and whole.
Told me to take hold of their wings
and fly away with them and they would
show me a new life without any strife.
I flew around this planet Earth and
laughed and laughed with a lot of mirth.
Happy as could be when I could peek in
on lovers without shame and never point
a finger of blame.
Each night from that time, the fairies
came to teach me a rhyme. sometimes
I awake too soon and wish they would
teach me to "croon".
Ah, how nice it is for an "old lady" to
dream and remember that one doesn't
have to "scream" when the fairies come
to teach me a new rhyme.
good and sometimes bad, but then I've
always been a nice little "tad".
