Salvia Land

First time I just peeked in
Funny how the colors played
Cartoon circus world
Laughing at the color clowns
They bid me a happy goodbye
Asking for me to return again
Happily with apprehension
I again chose to return
Stepping behind the curtain
The colors beckoned me further
Again laughing at the show
Melting into the background
Unknown hints of a darker place
Skirted the edges of the walls
I heard them beckoning me to return again
Promising an even better show
Ignorable, if only for a while
One more time I answer the call
No more normal understandable world
No laughs, no playful colors
Fun-house mirrors and layers of walls
The colors hold me tight
Finally a familiar face among the strange
Busting in through the color layered walls
Concerned for the missing
Pulling my hands calling me out
Following a trusted face
I am returned to the real world
Stunned from the surprising darkness
Numb from the travels fighting through the colors
That held me back as I tried to leave
They thought they had me
...But Love prevailed
------- Author's Notes -------
Story of my trips on Salvia. It was a very unusual place. After a third visit I decided I will not be going back.... |
