Employer, Employer

Employer, Employer
I’ve filled out my application
Sent in my resume
Uploaded my cover letter
Hoping on that day
To come in for an interview
Dressed up, confidence booming
Finally seeing some flowers blooming
Rainy days gone, sunshine peeking through
Knowing I’ve made it from step one to step two
The man could say yes or no
As to whether or not I’m hired
But as of right now
I’m so tired
Tired of not even making it to step two
Still at step one applying left and right
Months and months, no job in sight
Don’t want depression to take its toll
Cause the devil wants me to give in
To quit and complain,
But I can’t let that sucker win
Gotta realize that I ain’t got nowhere to go but up
I’m already down, so where else am I gonna go?
All I know
Is that when I’ve only had two years experience
And you ask for 5 plus
It’s like those with 5 plus
Are the ones being considered, given a chance
Resumes with less,
Probably aren’t given a second glance
Oh well, guess I’ll move on
Login somewhere else and apply
Pray and hope that I
See that light at the end of the tunnel
What I wouldn’t give to get on that train
Feeling greenbacks in my hands
Making my own money again
Not having to depend
On no one to make it in a world
Where some of us are hurting
Prices off the chain
Ooo I’m struggling to endure my rain
TCS said God gave me nothing to lose
But everything to gain
With that said, I just know
That if he or she can make it,
Then so can I
If he or she can do it,
Then so can I
If he or she can achieve,
Then so can I
If he or she can,
Then I can too
No one’s better than no one
I can learn how to do
I can get up there with you
And when I get up there
I’m not gonna brag
I’ll just thank God for my faith
For praising Him in advance
For seeing my chance
For looking down the road
Before I get there
Knowing that there is a blessing
Waiting for me somewhere
