The Price Of Non-conformity
30 May, 2011
Author: Meridian Zuriel
You don’t like what I write
You don’t like my opinion
You want me to walk on eggshells
For you
You don’t like me to speak
You just like me to listen
You want me to side with the world
And not speak what is true
You don’t like me
We never really met
Let’s not judge one another
It isn’t smart
You want me to be a conformist
You wish I were different
You want me to be what I’m not
But it’s not in my heart
You don’t want me to lead
You just want me to follow
To be a part of the crowd
Well, I can’t
You don’t like individuality
You don’t like boldness
You want me to change from peculiarity
Well, I ain’t
