Love It Anyway

Author: Meridian Zuriel
If it’s big
If it’s small
If it’s short
If it’s tall
If the frame
Is not the same
Love it anyway
If it sags
If it hangs
If the forehead’s
Not covered with bangs
If it’s full of hair
Or if hair’s no longer there
Love it anyway
If I look older
And you do too
It just means
We’re no longer 22
If it has wrinkles
If it has moles
If it has bunions
Or crusty soles
Still love it anyway
Cling to it day by day
Let’s learn to appreciate who’s by our side
Look over at them and smile wide
Let’s let the flames burn forever
For as long as we are together
Until death do us part
Speaking and showing love from the heart
Let’s keep our eyes on each other
Not having lust of the eye for another
Let’s stick it out and communicate
Work it out, no matter how late
This is a part of what love contains
We’ve dealt with storms before
So surely we can withstand future rain
Let’s not bring our anger with us when we sleep
Let love conquer all
For we are each other’s to keep
