Getting even may feel good
But it’s not good
It’s not a smart resolution
The result of dumb actions
Ain’t worth the retribution
Revenge can beget regret
Tit for tat ain’t cool
It’s the action of a fool
Back down
And I say again
Let the other person win
And be the bigger person
In the end
It ain’t worth giving in
They ain’t worth impressing
It ain’t worth the bills
The money owed
It ain’t worth estrangement
It ain’t worth your two cents
It ain’t worth your friendship
It ain’t worth tragedy
It ain’t worth the headache
It ain’t worth the wounds
It ain’t worth the regret
It ain’t worth court costs
It ain’t worth your reputation
It ain’t worth your soul
If they want to be the champion
Then they can have the title
It’s better to be wise and commonsensical
Avoid the reprehensible
And be sensible
Don’t let an egging on
Fuel the fire
Cause either you or the accused
Will pay for something or someone
When all’s done
So ignore
And let them act immature
Don’t jump on the kiddy bandwagon
Go about your destination
Without hesitation
Regardless of how much
They’re in your ear
Shouting insults and obscenities
Being a vindictive enemy
Giving vulgar gestures
If they continue to pester
Then either leave if you can
Or call the cops if you can
For your safety and security
Until they’re arrested and sent to jail
So that you can air out your balloon
After waiting to exhale
