I grieve for the little girl lost
For dolls still and silent, for bridges not crossed
For dreams not fulfilled, for beach balls not tossed
I dream of the little girl lost
I think of the little girl gone
Of wishes not granted, of songs left unsung
Of eyes that would sparkle, of hair washed in sun
I think of the little girl gone
I dream of the little girl here
Her talk never ending, her bending my ear
Her teasing, her telling, her smile so dear
I dream of the little girl here
I cry for the little girl still
Her body so fragile, her strong iron will
That soft breathless banter, that giggle so shrill
I cry for the little girl still
I smile for the little girl now
A race won, a champion, a curtsy, a bow
A frame strong and limber, a body that's "WOW!"
I smile for the little girl now

shiloh (74.67.103.47) -- Sunday, June 12 2011, 07:23 pm this brings to mind the song, Turn Around, sung by so many artists... the visuals are there, and the pain at the end is as the closing of a curtain at the end of a performance... |
