I'm alone with my memories of the past forty years
I remember them fondly through laughter and tears
The week in the summer I would spend with my aunt
Though they're long behind me, forget them I can't
Her laughter, her love, her warm easy style
Her wit, tender touch, and bright sunny smile
The joy all around her, she shared through her life
She was a mother, a sister, an aunt and good wife
She could make me laugh until I would cry
I never thought about the day she would die
Now I find myself crying until laughter comes
I'm sad she has left us, but glad she is home
She's in a place now where her spirit is free
Her mind is as clear as it once used to be
We all sadly miss her, but now she's at peace
Our memories we hold dear, our pain they will ease
Thank God for the time he allowed her to live
The love and the laughter she'd so freely give
She'll live in our memories as we smile and say
"Though we're parted now, we'll be together someday"
The love that she showed me, I pray I pass on
To all those who've known me....even after I'm gone
