Live Like It’s My Last
13 June, 2011
Author: Meridian Zuriel
I could die today or tomorrow
I don’t know
All I know
Is I want to go to Heaven when I go
Can’t imagine remaining here
In a world I want to leave
In a world that is imperfect
I’d want to see Jesus’ face
I’d want more than being
Encamped by His grace
I’d want to see His eyes
I’d want to see what Mary Magdalene saw
I’d want to see what the disciples saw
I’d want to escape forever
From Satan’s claw
Sometimes I wish I could
Left-hook Satan’s jaw
For being so mean, so tricky
Such a serpent
You can almost hear that spirit slither
You can almost hear the hiss of its tongue
So many times I’ve gotten close to beehives
Knowing I’d get stung
That’s why I ask for forgiveness while I yet live
I aim to live holy and righteous
To not be ashamed of Jesus’ name
Can’t undo what I did
Can’t unsay what I said
But I am sorry
And I ask God to forgive me
For the past, present and even the future
I just want to make it into Heaven
When I’m dead and gone
When my body becomes grass
I'm fighting to stay on top of my game
To live each day like it were my last
