Thoughts are chasing memories around her head as a once broken heart breaks a little again. A tear escapes eyes that closes against the pain her smile hides. Memories of long ago flash like lightning and fall like acid rain, battering a soul like a tidal wave. Another smile as her nails dig rivers of crimson in fisted palms. One more memory as the flashes fade, remembering eyes of a love who walked away. |
