Innocence Of A Child

Author: DreamWeaver
the world sat in stunned disbelief
as the events of sept 11th unfolded.
some near, some far all felt the shock
as the towers grumbled to the earth.
in the bronx
not far from the scene of destruction
sat a family
they too stood and watched
the mother seeing but not believing
worried for the future
worried for her son's future
then in a little voice
her 4 year old spoke.
"mommy, who set new york city on fire?"
his mother look at him and said
"bad men son, bad men did this"
her son innocent and pure.
said so simply.
"mommy, can we go find the bad men?"
"can we find them and put them in jail?"
the wonders of a child.
to think so simple in times of crises.
the adults of the world thought the worst
but the innocence of a child
offered the simple answer.
