Reap What You Sew
19 July, 2011
Author: Meridian Zuriel
Ain't no corn growing
If you were sewing
Bad seeds
Field will be dry
No rain will come
The sun will burn everything
For instance
If I insulted you
Talked about you
Then guess what
I'll be talked about too
The boomerang lesson
Is so true
What folks do unto others
Will get done to them too
Then we wonder why
We're going through
Having such a dry season
And the reason
Is clear after we ponder awhile
Reflect back on what
We've done or said
Realizing
Why our plants are dead
Why the weeds
Choked our flowerbed
Why there are no pretty roses
It used to be
"Why me?
What did I do to deserve
This misery"
Until we
Smile bitterly and finally
Know why
Why there's a famine
Why everything's so dry
Karma can be sweet
Then again
It can be sour
We determine its effects
By our causes
For every deed done
And I mean every single one
For as long as we live
That's bad
It will come back
Sometimes with a vengeance
Regardless of repentance
That's just life
And life is a horse pill
You might have to slice it
Once or twice
Until it's the right size
For your throat
Only thing you can do is
Swallow it
And remember when and why
And try
To do and say right by all
So a good harvest can replace
Something bad like a downfall
