Feeling 65 And Loving It
22 July, 2011
Author: Meridian Zuriel
Feeling 65 and I’m not even there
Not at an age yet
To receive gray hair
But I’ve always felt older
Than what I really am
I don’t keep up with the latest slang
The latest style
The latest game
I’m still hanging with Mario
You know from Nintendo?
I feel I identify
With people much older than I
Most of them have gone through
What I have yet to undergo
But even so
It’s good to hang with an advice-giver
Someone you can trust
Who won’t steer you wrong
I feel like I belong
In this circle of sisters
They have the right spirit
The right attitude
People you can trust
Always speaking to you
Always friendly
Not about hate or envy
It’s not about the fashion industry
With me
I’d rather dress differently
Could never fit in with a crowd
That didn’t want to hang
With me
I’ve always been a puzzle
Apparently shaped amorphously
Had to work too hard
To gain the friendship of my peers
Now that I’m accepted
In a group of older sisters in Christ
It feels nice
And I can safely say
That I don’t have to think twice
About whether or not
Their sanctity is a facade
‘Cause it’s evident
That they’re all about God

Couldn't think of another title other than this one. Oh well. |
