The Olympian

Hear me panting
As I run, run
Sweat beading down my face
From the sun, sun
Trying my best
To get the job done, done

Oh my
Manure hits my nose
Gets in my mouth
It's a shame
I gotta breathe this stuff out
Neck throbbing
Muscles hurting
But determination's my middle name
Getting what I want is my aim
If what I want ain't for me
Then it is/was still worth
The new found energy

You take a hiatus
You go on sabbatical
But you don't quit
You keep running
Til the breakthrough's legit
When you know this is it
YOU MADE IT
Nothing was for naught
You passed your exam
Worked hard toward your goal
Got your medal
Your prized possession

All that sweat paid off
And those tears
For months and years
All those sores and pains
Was worth the gain
The end is when
You can throw up your hands
And drop to your knees
And rejoice
Cracking in your voice
Relieved and Relaxed
For having accomplished mission impossible
Reward's looking great for the unstoppable
