I Was Alive Once

I Was Alive Once
I sat in that chair
I studied there
I used to have black hair
I had gray eyes
I was six foot five
I used to be alive
I went to that church
That was my house
Those were my children
He was my spouse
That was my four wheel drive
When I was alive
I ran around that trail
I once held a hand
I talked to you
You talked to me
You knew how I used to be
Before I became a memory
I held that mic
I cooked in that kitchen
Drank from that glass
Now I’m the past
My day of living life
Came to its last
I don’t dance anymore
I don’t sing anymore
I am no more
This is what I’ve
Been waiting for
