Hold U Back
15 August, 2011
Author: Meridian Zuriel
Some people hold you back
Because they want you to stay
Some people hold you back
Because they don't want you to succeed
Others hold you back
Because they see what you can't (see)
Whatever the reason
The choice is yours
Or should be
Especially
If it doesn't involve stupidity
Or illegal activity
Cause I can see interference here
Because you'd be embarking upon
An unhealthy journey dear
But if the foot you want to put forward
Is your best foot
Then by George, don't let nobody
Hold you back
The light's green, so drive through
Give respect where respect's due
Convince loved ones this is what you want to do
The career or goal you want to pursue
That your mind's made up
And a monkey wrench has yet to deter you
You've contemplated and waited
And as the wait continues
The only thing you've got to lose
Is a chance at seeing dreams come true
You only get young once
So start making preparations
For life anew
