The Haunting Dragons
18 August, 2011
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
I'm haunted by your dragons
Their talons ripping my flesh from my bones
Entrails spilling from me
The pain unmanageable
How dare you leave me like this
Walking away without care
Couldn't you put me out of my misery
Too easily you turn away
I pull myself together putting the pain away
Numb to the reality of what once was
Resurfacing the anger and danger
The feelings overwhelm
Now the ghosts have reopened
The scars hidden away
The pain again takes over
Destroying me
Why can't I forget
Why can't I forgive
It hurts, the failures
No reason to comprehend
I close my fingers
To close it away
This time it doesn't help
This time it's too close
Where is my armor
My shield and sword
Who knew it would still be needed
Who knew the evil still in the dragons tale
