The Poet(s)

Everybody’s sad
Everybody’s mad
Rarely is everybody glad
We all seem to have
Something in common
And it isn’t good
Quite a few of us
Are misunderstood
We’re all looking
For the same thing
To have another
Song to sing
We don’t like the dark
We want some light
We want peace, joy and love
Day and night
Cause if we had these three
Some changes would be
Made to our poetry
We share the same sorrows
The same plight
Most of us want wings
So we can take flight
Read our words
They are explicit
Some contrite
We’re sick of the wrongs
We want to feel right
The network of poets
Is very close-knit
We relate
We empathize
Most of our topics
Come as no surprise
(Poem Change)
Tell me why the poets are forgotten
The writer is not remembered
Or not regarded
Tell me why his writings are
Discarded
Till his death
After he’s written manuscript
After manuscript
Until his joints were too stiff
To add more to
His collection
Name’s famous
After his demise
When more than just poets
Empathize
When others behold his work
After it’s brought to light
And then sold
Printed in books
For the world to absorb
His life
For the world to walk
Into his affairs
Listen to his likes and dislikes
Read about his cares
Cheer up poet
From one poet to another
From one writer to another
Hold my hand my brother
Find something that interests you
Take to what you like to do
So many millions are in the same boat
Believe me,
Your words reverberate off the walls
From the sheet
Synchronization isn’t obsolete
I’m not near you
Nor you near me
But we’ve already established
Connectivity
Through our string of words
Like beads on a necklace
Sit and hold tight
Everything’s gonna be all right
