Put God First
4 September, 2011
Author: Meridian Zuriel
Wanna go after that thing
Put it off - It can wait
Don’t hesitate
To put Jesus Christ first
Don’t put nothing before Him
Your family, your car
Yourself
Don’t care what it is
Besides
The world is His
He gave me breath
He gave me life
What am I doing?
Spirit needs renewing
Gotta take time out
From the internet and TV
Shut it all down
And focus on my spirituality
Can’t afford to slip
Can’t afford to fall
Sometimes it’s hard to come back
After you’ve been gone too long
After spending years
Doing wrong
It pays to shut it all down
And put God first
Go to church
Instead of giving the devil an inch
Can’t complain much
After all
I dug my own trench
Now I gotta dig myself out
Before I get buried with dirt
Buried underneath the Earth
God’s the last person
I’d want to hurt
I gotta put my time in for Him
Make a sacrifice
Because the time I’m putting in now
Just won’t suffice
You know me by now
Sometimes I can’t keep it concise
God’s been so nice
He died for me
Blesses me
So I gotta bless Him
By putting my time in
And putting Him first
He’s my best friend
Gotta step back and reevaluate
The time I’m putting in
Say no to the world
Say yes to God
Be a saint
Don’t wear a facade
Keep it 100
Don’t be a hypocrite
Be about it
Be legitimate
Fit the missing puzzle
In its space
Fall on your knees
Seek His face
Cuz hard and long
Is this race
But believe that
Close is the home-run
After third base
Continue your stride
Keep up the pace
Remember that
Long-lasting is His grace
Time is too
Precious to waste
So again
My friend
Seek His face
Reach that
Better place
