One True Love

Author: DreamWeaver
i stumble across words you have written
i see once more a card you sent
i am taken back
to a time long since gone.
to emotions long since felt
in a flash i remember
in an instant i recall.
what once was with in my grasps
presented to me when i was unable to accept it
my mind wanders to that place in time
when we where like one
when emotions shared
where as if we where always meant to be
then once more i am in the present
once more i am in the now
with you gone
but the memory as clear as the day it was real
others come and go.
bring things out of me like you once did
bring forth more of the one you knew
with ever new one
comes the challenge to replace you.
comes the thought of finding
another like you
with ever failed attempt
comes the thought
that the one like you
is impossible to find
because there is only one you
i grew up believing
that one true love
will come my way
i grow older wondering
if it came and went with you
