Captain Jack
30 October, 2011
Author: Shiloh
Last Thursday, 13 October,
a good man passed away.
He was a husband, a father,
and a true friend.
He was also a Green Beret,
Airborne qualified, a chopper pilot,
and my Company Commander in OCS.
Captain Jack was 73,
just nine years older than me,
and we shared the same birth-date,
9 February.
I thought highly of Captain Jack,
so highly that I gave his last name to my son,
for his middle name.
He was just another soldier,
unknown to most people,
but loved by those who did know him.
America... you lost a son last Thursday,
but you can be proud of the man he was.

anonymous (24.19.113.200) -- Monday, October 31 2011, 10:17 pm Good way to remember your friend. Take no offence to this, but my friend's dog died, a golden retriver he named "Captain Jack", so he named his next dog, another golden retriver "Major Max." Captain Jack was awesome, and I shall miss him. |
