Friends - Rough Draft
4 November, 2011
Author: Meridian Zuriel
They come, they go
As long as the cash flows
But don’t get broke
They’re on the next train with smoke
You know each other one day
The next, you’re strangers
The user used to chat away
Had a lot of gobbledygook to say
Until the following day
When the cat tied that tongue
Ooo they’re a dime a dozen
So many in fatigues
And yet some of us
Allow ourselves to get duped
Again and again
And again and again
Does it ever end?
Give ém wheels
To get from point A to point B
Like we were obligated
Now we’re hated
Especially if we lent something
And never got repaid
Life’s burns are 3rd degree
What I consider a privilege
You say it is required of me
I’m not required to be your taxi
I’m not required to be nice
But you’re required
To have some manners my dear
The words thank you
Have yet to reach my brown ear
You already know
This ain’t no compliment
I’m fishing for
Courtesy should come automatic
After all,
You’re the one
Outside of my door
Asking a favor
Since you’ve received
Rejections
From our neighbors
