Blue Shadows
12 November, 2011
Author: Bobbi Sinha-Morey
There are blue shadows
where I lose myself,
under a forever bleak
sky, and I feel resigned.
I live in the same world,
inhabit the same life.
All that's left are the
sensations of the empty
afternoon, and the days
begin to hurry by.
They've nearly been
forgotten, and they
feel like nothing at all.
Memories are packaged
in the past, merely hidden
inside my brain. The few
stitches in my heart only
decay and come apart
with age. On the surface
I conceal malignant
thoughts and unwanted
images that wait in the
dark. Rekindled by a
word, I set a tiny flame
to them, relieved.
There is so much to
learn, and a tabula
rasa lays perched
in my soul.
