Car Accident
6 March, 2012
Author: Barbara Goodhew
Merely another day,
One for me to play.
Asked a friend to drive me to bingo,
Said yes in a certain kind of lingo.
We went not knowing what was going to happen.
Driving down the road carefree with anticipation.
Starting to get dark
Soon we'll be there, bingo park.
Came up over a hill and bang,
We hit a tractor with no lights,
I don't remember, that night.
I was told I had 7 broken ribs ,
a collapsed lung and a fractured hand.
5 weeks in the hospital to heal
3 weeks at my own home to heal.
I think would have been long enough.
But I' m not a doctor or a nurse so
I followed the rules and now I'm home.
NO PLACE LIKE HOME.

Dino Hi. (24.19.113.200) -- Wednesday, March 7 2012, 10:53 am I'm sure glad you're better now and enjoying your home. A tractor/w no lights? Big no-no! Should have flashers going front & back, and at least a car/w flashing warning lights on, in the back folowing the tractor. Glad your safe at home and now healing. Take care Barb. A fan of your poems. Thanks. Get well soon! |
