How I Feel
21 August, 2012
Author: Shan
Sometimes it's a song
A picture
or a thing
Any lead me on
Which way will it bring
I shed tears for all the words
I've ever heard you sing
Even in the birds
I hear you echoing
I smile while i'm cooking
It's your style of dinner dish
I know that you are looking
As I whip up some of this
Your laughter rumbles through my head
At any given moment
I think of silly jokes you've said
And the way we laughed as you told it
I think of Sunday skating times
And dancing on your shoes
Belting out some Kid Rock rhymes
While up on stage with you
I was anything but easy to raise
Straight up -- I was bad
But you kept saying anyways
"It's ok, I love you, I'm your dad"
Even when I ran away
You chased me down the street
Looking back on that today
I'm glad you ran faster than me!
Even through rough times like that
When I thought my life was over
You reminded me just like your Dad
There's an angel on my shoulder
All the memories that flow my mind
Help me grow, and laugh and heal
I'm sure to see you when it's time
And I know just how I'll feel

Hadn't written anything since May, but love to read yours and others. Love how this one just flows. Every now and then, I wonder what would be it like to live forever. |
