Neighbor's Cats
20 October, 2012
Author: Dino Hi
My dog died five years ago
Now my yard has become the neighborhood playground
For squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, raccoons
Snakes, mice, rats and cats. Not to forget birds
For years the cats been coming around
Treating my house like a roof top tree house
And my yard like their own litter box
My fence as their personal walk path to every house
One day I got a present from my neighbor's cat
A huge dead rat in the middle of my front yard
I was so happy, no wonder I haven't seen a mice or rat
It became fertilizer for one of my juniper
Talked to the neighbor and found out their names
Ricky and Micky, one gray, one black and white
After years of watching them, sneaking around my place
Gray one walks up to me, so I pat it's head
Then it went into my garage snooping?
Was it looking for a place to have kittens?
The black and white one jumps up on my bench
In front my window and stare through the blinds
That's when I realize, in all my years
That's where they got the name
It's a Peeping Tom!
------- Author's Notes -------
I rather have cats then rats. |
