A Moment For Me
27 November, 2012
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
Sitting in silence with my pondering mind
I let the thoughts flit in and out as they please
A delicious Thanksgiving dinner
A coming visit home to Mom's
The chill in the air, how crisp, the breeze
Left to it own devices my mind plays tricks
As hither and skitter it goes
Fleeting memories of old deeds done
Dreams for a future uncertain
A smile for a memory thought lost
Sometimes its nice to sit in the silence
And hear all the thoughts in my head
A relaxing sigh of a job well done
A self pride in a moment of restraint
Glad that the hustle and bustle is done
I know that the pondering must come to an end
As the daily duties put on hold drift in
A left over dish needs washing
The fireplace needs tending
What a nice relaxed time it has been
------- Author's Notes -------
Sometimes after a long holiday weekend it is really nice to just sit back and relax in quiet contemplation. |
