Unbalanced Year
1 January, 2013
Author: Pondering Red
this unbalanced moody
old year draws to a close,
filled with
the slaughter of humans
and massacres
on mother earth
and those cries
echo with helpless pangs
of utter hoplesness -
past the atmosphere
into the wildness of space
and beyond
to the cosmos
of no beginning - no end
where dusts
of dying stars
join forces to create
newness
the astronauts
in the space station
view the curvature of the earth
in awe -
no borders
no boundaries
no war
no greed
is seen
as the vessel passes
over twinkling city lights
and majestic mountain
and desert formations
yet this year,
it seems
that
minds have gone
more mad
with vengeance
and greed
and
twisted thinking
that
erupted
into fatal scenarios and
more scars and bleeding
from the crusts
of mother earth
yet,
many moments of joy
flooded the year
with sunshine on newborn faces
and lovers, old and new,
drifting into sunsets -
and the year
witnessed
victorys and bravery
and the miracles of human
compassions
perhaps,
for a moment
as the clock ticks
towards midnight -
perhaps,
time will flow more softly
and
a gentle kind of peace
of reprieve of suffering
will prevail
to give
some hope
some kind of caring
and
more balance
to this very troubled world
perhaps,
the snow will glow small crystals
of glorious silences
for
our tormented souls
and
a whiteness of peace
will drift
ever so gently
and
for just a monent
the earth will
absorb
peaceful radiance
and love...
