Courage
26 January, 2013
Author: Meridian Zuriel
Lead:
I know it is hard
When everyone’s looking at you
Disbelieving the dedicated one
Didn’t make it through
This world is frozen solid
But I refuse to lose
This has to be just a stepping stone
To where I need to get to
Chorus:
(It takes) Courage to face the people
Courage to face their words
Courage to face what is hard to face
When you have no choice but to about face
Courage to share the story
Courage to share the pain
Courage to take it all in stride
Even though it hurts inside
Lead:
I know it is hard
To come back home to
Never-ending interrogations
The whole day through
For the world to be so big
It is also so small
There are friends of friends of friends of friends
Who already know the mess you’re in
Bridge: So what’s next?
Do you sit against the wall?
Knees to chest with your head hung down
Reflecting on it all
How do you keep your bearing?
When the inside of you is tearing
And ripping apart
Lord, help this lonely heart
Chorus:
(It takes) Courage to face embarrassment
Courage to face the storm
Courage to be upbeat
After you face defeat
(It takes) Courage to start back at one
After all you’ve done
Courage to face what is hard to face
When you have no choice but to about face
Chorus:
It takes courage to face the people
Courage to face their words
Courage to face what is hard to face
When you have no choice but to about face
Courage to share the story
Courage to share the pain
Courage to take it all in stride
Even though it hurts inside
