Every time I feel good
I'm still not certain that I'm happy.
Though I do not see you,
I'm fairly certain you're still there.

I know that it's my fault -
This hurt, this pain that I am feeling;
With all the time between us,
I know you well, as you know me.

Depression - leave me alone!
Depression - I try to hide!
Depression - you find me still-.

There's no one to turn to,
No one I can trust to talk with.
I've just one way to fight this,
With beer, or pills, or blessed sleep.

Why does this continue,
Why don't I end it now forever?
Just another number
Another nameless number with them all?

Depression - leave me alone!
Depression - I try to hide!
Depression - you find me still-.

Depression is an odd friend,
But one I've lived with all these long years,
I wonder if I'd miss it,
Or miss the rage, or miss the tears?

I can only stumble
In and out of every day now,
Maybe I'm depressed, since
Nothing ever seems to work for me.

Depression - leave me alone!
Depression - I try to hide!
Depression - You find me still-.

I don't have an answer,
No magic word, or special potion.
Drugs and drink don't help me,
They only hide me for a while.

When I come back from them
It's always waiting there to greet me,
I've learned to hate that false smile,
And what I know it's doing to my mind.

Depression - you win again!
Depression - is there no end!?
Depression - you're killing me-.

i know this feeling well. i also put up fake smiles it is like a wall between this world and i. its almost a second nature. good write thank you
