Where Do I Fit In?
29 August, 2013
Author: Shiloh
I wonder where I fit in...
You can see an old farmer,
and he looks like a farmer.
You can see a trainman
and know that's what he is.
You can see an old cop and know by his face
that he's still a cop deep inside.
There's just no way to mistake
the eyes of an old soldier,
and a grease monkey's hands -
they just give it away.
There are so many lives
and so many titles....
but I wonder where I fit into it all.
Can you see me and know anything
more than what you see?
Can you look at me and say,
"I've been where you were."?
I walk along,
and I can see what you were,
but can you see what I was,
or even what I am?
