Political Posturing
2 October, 2013
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
It's sad, this passing of the state of affairs
where political squabbling leaves people stranded without care
Cut off the little guy once and again
Put thousands out of work with the swipe of a pen
Endless arguing and posturing where nothing gets solved
Crossed arms back to back, aren't we more evolved
Like small children you pout, if your way, you don't get
After all, it's not your fault that we have all this debt
Have you forgotten that compromise is a win
Then, neither side is met with chagrin
We don't want promises of free, so you can take some more
We don't need any of this dividing class war
You were elected by the people to represent us
What's good for me, but not you, is totally unjust
And what is this stuff about not keeping a budget
This is what you have, and this is ALL you get
This giving to the rich and making us all the poor
Anyone who has worked for a living will deplore
We don't need you to tell us what we need
Nor do we need your lies, false promises or greed
So tired of the bickering like children untaught
I will end now with one final thought
Get off your duffs and quit this stall
What's good for one, should be good for all

mental (66.153.240.162) -- Wednesday, October 2 2013, 02:39 am i'm not much on politics but this shutdown is crazy. especially when the ones making the shutdown are still getting paid. nicely done and to the point. |
Meri (98.166.172.167) -- Wednesday, October 2 2013, 04:59 am The government shutdown is ludicrous. There's simply no reason for it. The timing is terrible, especially when a lot of Americans are seeking employment (that actually pays the bills) and affordable health care. |
