It's early Christmas morning,
and I'm kind of tired.
All the baking and wrapping is done,
and the tree is pretty, with the lights
and the decorations.

I want to pause just a couple moments,
to thank all of you here,
for being friends with me and for
putting up with this cranky olde pharte,
and for laughing at my poor attempts
at humour.

I have enjoyed reading you, talking with
you, and sharing the small bits and pieces
of your lives that you have shared with me.
I know most of you better than I know my
own neighbors! (It's not like the old days.)

I would say things like Happy New Year,
Merry Christmas, whatever, but you know that
those wishes go out to you regardless.

I guess what I'm really trying to say is a
simple thing - I wish you all peace, and that
good feeling you get from being happy, and
the contentment you feel from family and
friends.

May your Day today be wonderful, may you
get as many hugs as you give, and may the
memories you earn today stay with you into
the next years, as they are smiles you have
earned, and that you are entrusted with,
to pass on to other generations.
