my voice had gone silent
no reason to make a sound
forgotten in time
I lost a reason to rhyme
but sin breathes life back in my soul
the thoughts that drive my spirit
high
yet here I lie, thinking to myself
why must this be the way
why must I rely on your kiss
your touch
your passion
to soak through my skin
to bring a voice to this broken man
to remind me of a forgotten dream
that I finally tossed to the side
…just so I can hear your silence
again
twisted you are
but I am the one who is jumping right in
