Shades Of Blue

Everything is a shade of blue
Some much darker than others
My sense of worth is failing me
all for the loss of you
I know I should not base my life
or my dreams on another person
But I was so wrapped up in you
you became my life's diversion
I didn't realize how much you filled
those gaps that time allowed
The excitement of looking forward
to each day which you were involved
Now my days are shades of blue
including the color in my tears
And as the silent rivers flow
my heart cries because underneath it knew
