The Last Love Poem
27 March, 2014
Author: Tarna
It all matters not in the grand scheme of things
each days goes on as always
In your world you wake and go thru the rituals
As millions of others do each morning
I wake earlier than I used to
perhaps hiding from my dreams
I walk thru my morning feeling alone
It's been so long since I had felt this way
I know I need to find a meaning
to the worth of the things I do
but unhappiness prevails right now
and the weight on my shoulders is great
I wish things could be different
and even if they were, it is now tainted
The trust in the emotions is gone
and I can no longer let anyone hold my heart
You asked once "what about love?"
I've always known love is a facade
It is great to proclaim when it serves a purpose
and how quickly and easily for some it can change
All said and done I feel used
It leaves me sad, tired and ashamed
I knew deep down things would end this way
history repeating and all
Everyone has their Achilles heel
I guess that you are mine
Sometime you trust too much in someone
instead of trusting what is inside.
I walk thru yet another morning
feeling morose, lonely and sad
Eventually my mind and heart will mend
But for now my love poems end

Tarna (107.133.200.6) -- Wednesday, April 9 2014, 02:41 am Not sure. I know some poets embrace the darkness in their lives in order to write.. I know right now I just feel kind of dead inside. And not too poetic.. So we will have to see.... Thanks for reading |
