The Distant Dream
18 April, 2014
Author: Newage Caveman
Walking through the lanes of the countryside
Speaking to a past that weaves wild memories
Writing our will before our last breath
Moving to a space far beyond our glories
Working our way towards salvation
Talking our way to a foreign land
Reaping the fruits of a hard day's labor
How I wish I had a magic wand?
Living a life of distant dreams
Chasing one goal after another
Trying to do the balancing act
Between work and life's own ladder
All this noise for want of joy
All this toil for want of pride
Building pathways to a better future
But, my paradise is lost in the countryside
Fresh farmlands and green grasslands
Cows grazing over the fertile soil
Watching the moon by the shores of the ocean
whose breeze will wipe my past and its turmoil
Mulling over our pondering thoughts
As we sip our hot cup of coffee
The distant dream melts our hearts
The days roll by, as we script our own stories
