Parking Lot Puddle
11 February, 2003
Author: Elizabetta
A murky puddle
Dauther of soot covered snow
Lies alone
An oasis in the black tar desert
of the empty parking lot
Dark and grimy
a product of automobile exhaust and mud
But a deeper gaze
reveals that under the curtain
of the amber setting sun
there is much more.
tender light swirls aobut
forming an amalgamation of colors
hues, that cannot be named on a crayola wrapper
Tints from every part of the spectrum
weaving together to form
a breath-taking tapestry
Ther dirt is not gone, nor masked
It coexists with the radiant shades
harmonious neighbors
Even the particles of dust
seem to shimmer
They are as gliter
Sublimation
Transformation
In the same puddle
my reflection
reflective is its very nature
Swirled in is my soul
Along with jagged bits of me
That sparkle in the embrace of the golden rays
All the grit and glowing
Melting together to form a masterpiece
The mosaic that is me
kalidescope of soul
Acceptance
Beauty

Martin Vann (65.57.56.20) -- Thursday, February 13 2003, 02:01 am Your poem it captures me, with thoughts of you. Beauty lost and never seen? Or beauty found and never seen. I feel strength in you, not more than I have in myself, Yet beauty, I have before, never seen. Why? because I just walked by, not seeing the treasure at my feet. Through your words, I see iyou now, and bow to you, beneath your feet is beauty. What will I find, what treasure is there, when I raise my heart above your lovely feet. Would be enough, if I could just see you! Can't say another word, I said all I can. MartinV |
