Step Up
9 June, 2014
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
I hear so many say they want more
Yet they do not want to do anything to get it
They don't want to change, but they want change
How can you make a difference if you do not move
Some say they want to be successful
Yet don't want to stand out in a crowd
Wanting to get noticed without being seen
How can one hope to achieve if you do not try
So many complain that their needs are not heard
Yet they tell their friends no one will listen
To mend a fence you don't call a seamstress
How can you be heard if you don't rightly speak out
There are many voices, so many lives
Yet many don't know the right ways
So many want, but are unwilling to do
How can you call that the American way

Meri (98.166.154.14) -- Wednesday, June 11 2014, 06:56 am Years ago I collaborated with Ben on a poem similar to yours Dreamer. However, after re-reading it a dozen times, I realized I stepped on my own toes. Can't speak for nobody else but me. Great message! |
